Waist to Height Ratio Formula

Formula
$$\text{WHtR} = \left( \frac{\text{Waist circumference}}{\text{Height}} \right) \times 100$$

Waist-to-height ratio is a simple yet powerful measure to estimate health risk due to abdominal obesity. It’s more accurate than BMI in many cases, especially when identifying visceral fat levels.

Interpretation (Adults):

  • ≤ 35 (Men) / ≤ 34 (Women): Abnormally slim
  • 36–43: Underweight
  • 44–52: Healthy range
  • 53–57: Overweight
  • ≥ 58: Very overweight / obese

Ideal Target:
Keep your waist circumference less than half of your height.

Works with both cm/cm or in/in
, as long as both measurements use the same unit.
